This post is going to be a little different than any other post up until this point as it is less informational and more observational. Basically, I wanted to take a time out and really look at the stop smoking industry. It’s friggin’ huge! When you think about it, the smoking cessation industry is set up for infinite success. There are tons of different products and services related to quitting smoking out there such as stop smoking aids, stop smoking hypnosis, medication, guides…the list goes on and on. This isn’t the half of it, though. The real money factor is the fact that there will always be smokers who are trying to quit and there will always be new people becoming smokers.

The fact that this industry has an endless cycle of buyers is just mind blowing. I mean, when you step back and begin to think about it, it really is humbling. It’s kind of funny too because you’ve got insanely profitable industries on both sides of the smoking game. On one side you’ve got the drug which makes addiction happen in the first place and keeps people coming back for more and more and more. And on the other side you’ve got products that help those smokers who desperately want to quit their addiction and move on. One industry is obviously ethically better than the other but they are both extremely huge nonetheless. Thinking about the economics behind quitting smoking really is something interesting, I’ll tell ya. Anyway, just some food for thought.

Considering the fact that nicotine is a highly addictive drug up there with the likes of cocaine in heroine in terms of its addictiveness and ability to bring the user back to regular use, it’s no surprise that many smokers find it difficult to truly motivate themselves to quit. Sure, most smokers have many moments of reflection where they despise themselves for smoking and question whether or not what they are doing to their health is really worth it, but few are able to hold on to a true sense of motivation that can be turned into successful smoking cessation. There’s a huge difference between self deprecation every once in a while due to regretting being a smoker and gaining motivation on a profound level – a source of motivation that pushes the smoker over the edge and causes them to do whatever it takes to quit.

The video below helps to motivate smokers to quit once and for all by visually demonstrating the devastating effects of smoking to one’s health. Hopefully, by watching this stop smoking video you will be able to gain a new source of motivation to finally quit cigarettes. No, this video isn’t going to take care of all the motivation and willpower you need in order to quit by itself, but it should help to get you thinking about your habit and what you want to do about your habit.

Watch The Stop Smoking Video Right Below

Quit Smoking – The best bloopers are here

Personally, I think the video does a good job of demonstrating what you are actually doing to your lungs each time you take a puff of a cigarette. Another thing is that the video is what it is. This isn’t some ridiculous ridiculous anti-smoking ad you see all too often these days. This video is the real deal. If you’re a smoker then all you need to do is get yourself a napkin and try it out yourself. You’ll see the same results. You really don’t even need to go this far to realize that this video is the truth. If you look at the filter of your cigarette you’ll see that it is pretty darn brown by the end of your smoke…and this is only a fraction of what you’ve collected in your lungs. All of that tar, and in most cases a ton of different harmful chemicals, is being poured into your lungs with each and every puff. Again, this video does a great job of demonstrating that. Hopefully you take this video to heart and use it as fodder to get yourself motivated to finally give it your all when it comes to putting down the cigarette for good.

The subject that I am about to talk about is a subject that I have probably already brought up and one that I will reiterate time and time again here on this website. What I would like to talk about is quitting smoking and how quitting is a process. Because that is exactly what smoking cessation is. Smoking cessation isn’t something that you decide to pursue one day and then accomplish the next. The reality of nicotine and cigarette addiction is that the addiction is something that needs to be dealt with over a relatively large period of time. In fact, you’ll probably be dealing with your addiction for your whole entire life even after successfully quitting cigarettes. Unfortunately, this is just the hard truth when it comes to quitting smoking cigarettes and what you’ll have to deal with after doing so.

Quitting Is A Journey – A Very Long Journey

So, quitting is a journey? A journey that is pretty darn long? Yes, it is! I think that a lot of smokers who want to quit fail to realize that successful smoking cessation is something that is done over a long period of time. And by a long period of time I am talking about your whole entire life. This is why so many smokers fail to be quitters in the first place. A smoker who thinks that quitting can be done with some sort of magic aid and denies the fact that they are going to really have to work at it, is a smoker that has set themselves up for failure.

The truth is that stop smoking aids can help tremendously with the process of quitting and can even make the process a whole lot easier, but it does not mean that a stop smoking aid will totally eliminate the work that needs to be done – the work a smoker must put in in order to abolish their addiction. Likewise, there are no magic techniques or tips that can take the responsibility off of a smoker when it comes to doing their part in warding off addiction and cravings.

Quitting smoking is a journey. It is a journey that requires continuous effort and a journey that never really ends. Yes, it is very much possible to quit cigarettes. The point of this post isn’t to dissuade you from trying to quit cigarettes and to make you think that quitting successfully is absolutely impossible. Rather, the point of this post is to get you to realize that the process of quitting isn’t something that can zapped away and is something that you must always work at. What I mean by always working at it is that you are always going to need to push yourself mentally to fight off and deal with cravings. Cravings do get better over time but they will most likely never go away. So, if you are able to let a craving pass with willpower and focus then you’ll be just fine. Just know that it will require effort. Now, go start (not) smoking!

If you’d like to stop smoking then you should know that there are plenty of ways to do so – maybe even too many ways. You certainly aren’t tied down to a single method when it comes to quitting which allows for flexibility. With that said, it is important to note that there is no stop smoking method out there that is going to make the process of quitting easy. Well, I shouldn’t say that there are absolutely no methods out there that make quitting easy but the fact of the matter is that for the most part, quitting cigarettes is going to be hard. You can’t be fully reliant on a method because in the end a method isn’t what’s going to get you to quit, you are. And since you are ultimately responsible for your quitting success, you should put a fair amount of effort towards finding a method that is right for you.

The truth is that not all stop smoking methods are created equally. I’m not talking about the effectiveness of each and every stop smoking method but rather how each and every relates to you. Not all stop smoking methods are created equally because not all methods are going to produce the same results for you. For example, the use of nicotine gum might help one smoker make tremendous changes in their lifestyle and subsequently quit cigarettes for good while only prolonging addiction to nicotine for another smoker. This is something you need to realize when quitting smoking because it can help you tremendously throughout your journey.

By realizing that not every stop smoking method is going to do it for you, you will be able to make better decisions initially as well as keep on persisting. If you realize that you need to put forth some effort towards finding a method that is right for you then you are more likely to find a method that will in fact work for you. Yeah, you can jump into quitting cigarettes and pick the first method that you see but it probably won’t have the same effect as fine tuning your selection. Instead of picking a method at random you should be doing your research and considering methods based on what you think would work best for you. Also, if and when a certain method doesn’t work out for you, you will be more likely to keep on going with your attempt at quitting. You won’t give up on the idea of quitting but rather you will be open to exploring new methods since you know that not every method will work for you.

Chewing a piece of gum in order to stop smoking? Yes, chewing nicotine gum can help you quit your addiction to cigarettes but it isn’t quite the same as chewing a piece of your favorite minty gum. Chewing nicotine gum in order to quit smoking works by allowing your body nicotine while you aren’t smoking cigarettes in order to do so. It is meant to help you deal with your nicotine cravings through a means that isn’t smoking tobacco. That is the idea here – you chew nicotine gum instead of smoking cigarettes in order to deal with your cravings. This way, you aren’t dealing with the intense effects of nicotine withdrawal and you are getting your nicotine in a way that isn’t smoking. But is the use of nicotine gum worth your time? Can it actually help you to quit cigarettes? Sure, you now know the idea behind chewing nicotine gum but what you don’t know is whether or not it is right for you.

Chewing nicotine gum regularly in order to deal with cigarette addiction is a rather tricky method. What I mean by this is that you are fighting fire with fire. Smoking cigarettes is obviously a lot unhealthier than chewing nicotine gum but it is the nicotine that gets you addicted to cigarettes in the first place. So, when you consider the fact that you are substituting nicotine with nicotine you can begin to see how this particular method can be counterproductive. The use of nicotine gum does allow a smoker to deal with withdrawal symptoms and kick the habit of smoking, but it does not totally eliminate the underlying addiction. With that said, it is important to note that the proper usage of nicotine gum is to cope with cigarette addiction as opposed to ending it entirely.

Chewing nicotine gum will not allow you to simply end your addiction to smoking cigarettes. The idea is that you chew nicotine in order to deal with the effects of withdrawal and cravings. You can’t simply “beat” your addiction with nicotine gum. It just doesn’t work that way. Rather, you are supposed to use it to get through the early stages of quitting cigarettes in order to get used to not smoking and to make changes for the better in your lifestyle. A typical usage period of nicotine gum is 12 weeks. What this means is that you to use nicotine gum for this period of time and then gradually stop using it. If all goes well, the nicotine gum will help you to become accustomed to a non-smoker lifestyle, eliminate triggers for smoking, and end your addiction to nicotine. However, as I said before this type of stop smoking method can be counterproductive.

You can’t use nicotine gum forever which means that you need to have a cut off point for its usage. Typically, you don’t want to use nicotine gum for more than 12 weeks. So in the time span of 12 weeks you’ll want to have reduced the amount of gum you are chewing and then finally end its usage completely. There is a problem here, though. As long as you are using nicotine gum you are still technically addicted to nicotine. You are no longer smoking cigarettes to fuel this addiction but you are getting your nicotine in another form. At some point you are going to need to rely on your own will power as nicotine gum cannot totally remove your urges to smoke. It can help you get on the right path and it can help you to get used to not smoking cigarettes, but you are the ultimate decider as far as whether or not you will smoke another cigarette. This is something you need to think about when considering the use of nicotine gum. Nicotine gum is a great aid to get you on the righteous path of quitting but it also cannot do all of the work for you and it still technically has you addicted to nicotine.

Going the all natural route is a route that many try to take whenever looking for a remedy and quitting smoking cigarettes is no different. In the case of quitting cigarettes it’s a bit ironic that a smoker would want to go the all natural route considering that most cigarettes are filled with thousands of chemicals that are anything but natural. With that said, using natural stop smoking remedies can be a very effective and safe way of going about the quitting procedure. Quitting cold turkey is an extremely difficult method of quitting (probably the most difficult), and so it is important to have stop smoking aids at your side – whether that be in the form of techniques, tricks, products, or in the case of this article, natural smoking remedies. Doing things all naturally is a great way to aid your journey considering that it poses the least amount of risk to your body and it can really help you end your addiction to nicotine.

The Use Of Natural Stop Smoking Remedies

First of all, I’d like to make it clear that when I am referring to natural stop smoking remedies I am talking about all natural products meant to help you quit cigarettes. I just wanted to make this clear in order to avoid confusion on your part. Anyhow, where was I? Oh yes, I was about to start talking about the use of natural stop smoking remedies. The main reason why the use of a an all natural remedy is so effective is because it allows you to cope with the side effects of withdrawal without putting any risk to your body. Dealing with physical/mental withdrawal symptoms as well as intense cravings for nicotine is what makes kicking the habit so difficult. It is the reason why so many people fail to completely quit cigarettes and why they always come back for more. So, when you have something that you can use, a natural stop smoking remedy in this case, to help make the cravings and withdrawal more tolerable, you will have an easier time making it through quitting.

Quitting smoking is incredibly difficult and if anyone tells you differently they are outright lying. It is because of this that you need to find all of the help you can find in terms of getting you through quitting cigarettes with the least hassle possible. Natural stop smoking remedies are the perfect fit. They allow you see a little more clearly by subsiding the effects of nicotine cravings and withdrawal symptoms. This is extremely important as far as quitting goes. For the most part, you are completely blinded by the cravings of nicotine. Deep down you may want to quit but the nicotine cravings are always there to persuade you otherwise. And when you start the process of quitting cigarettes, you are also exposed to the effects of physical/mental withdrawal which blur your thinking even more. Do you see why many people fail to quit without the use of any aids such as natural stop smoking remedies? When you are constantly persuaded by a drug and its withdrawal symptoms quitting is going to be very difficult. But, if you are able to pull back the curtains of cravings and withdrawal, like you are with natural stop smoking remedies, you will be able to make better use of your own will power.

All in all, using stop smoking remedies that are all natural is a great way to finally quit smoking cigarettes. Natural remedies won’t make your addiction go “poof” and they won’t do all of the work for you, but they will make the process of quitting your nicotine addiction a whole lot easier. They do this by lessening the effects of cravings and withdrawal which allows you to make better use of your own will power and therefor do what you want as opposed to what the drug, nicotine, wants.

Stop smoking therapy is just one of the many methods of quitting smoking. However, when comparing stop smoking therapy to other methods such as smoking aids and medications it is hardly as popular a method. You don’t see as many advertisements for stop smoking therapy as you do for other stop smoking methods, namely medications. But then again, this could just be me. Anyhow, if you are someone who is interested in using therapy as a means of quitting then you should first make sure that it is the right method for you.

When it comes to using therapeutic means in order to quit smoking it seems as though laser therapy is the most popular type. While I haven’t investigated each and every type of stop smoking out there, this seems to be a type of therapy that is being pushed the most. In fact, it seems as though this is really the only type of therapy you see being advertised. I have yet to come across a traditional type of therapy offered in the field of quitting smoking. It is something that is very surprising to me as I thought it would be a prominent form of kicking the habit. To me, going to a therapist who specializes in helping people quit would probably be very helpful.

With that said, it looks as though I’ll be focusing on laser therapy for stop smoking as it is the only type I have come across as of yet. This type of therapy mimics the effects of acupuncture by helping you to release a state of deep relaxation as well allow you to release endorphins, your body’s natural pain killer. As far as I can tell, laser therapy helps you to quit smoking by giving you pleasurable sensations. The sensations experienced during the laser therapy are a substitute for those experienced during smoking. The nicotine in cigarettes is what makes you crave them day in and day out and when you deprive your brain of the nicotine “high” it sends you the message that you want more of it. Instead of smoking a cigarette in order to get these feelings you can use laser therapy in order to substitute them.

So, is stop smoking therapy worth it? If you want to decide whether or not this type of stop smoking technique is the right one for you you’ll have to decide whether or not you think the method is effective. On the surface it seems as though it is a method that could potentially help you to quit by replacing feelings associated with nicotine consumption. One the flip side, you’ll have to also look into the costs associated with laser therapy and decide whether or not it is worth it compared to other methods on the market.

Ok, you aren’t literally a slave if you are a smoker of the dirty cigarette. However, if we are considering things on a metaphorical level then you are. If you are a cigarette smoker, a true smoker, then you are technically a slave to the cigarette. Think about that one for a second. Now, the point of this article isn’t to poke fun at you or make you feel like crap. Rather, the point of this article is to get you thinking about your addiction to cigarettes in a way that could potentially give you that extra push to quit. So, as I was saying, if you are a smoker smoking day in a day out then you really are slave.

Addiction Is A Loss Of Self And Cigarettes Are Your Ruler

At the core, addiction to cigarettes is a one sided battle. If you are truly addicted to cigarettes then you are always needing that next cigarette. You find yourself sitting in your car, in your home, at work craving a cigarette. You are always craving a cigarette. Now tell me, how does it feel when you think of smoking this way? I probably makes you feel like crap, right? The thing is that it doesn’t have to be like this. You don’t have to always need more and more and more cigarettes. You don’t have to continuously harm your health. You don’t always have to looked down upon (unfortunately, non-smokers tend show less respect for their smoking couterparts…I don’t agree with this but it doesn’t change anything). Honestly, you don’t have to continue to smoke. Smoking is not a necessary part of what makes you, you.

You can stop smoking. And if you don’t think you can stop smoking then you never will stop smoking. This isn’t motivational garbage (well, it is supposed to motivational but it isn’t garbage), this is the truth. If you can’t convince yourself that you can quit smoking then how the hell do you believe your body to believe you can? If you aren’t committed to your decision from the beginning and you don’t believe and yourself then you are going to get smacked silly by your mind and body. First, your body is going to smack you silly when you start to feel the effects of physical withdrawal and you aren’t ready for it. And second, your mind is going to smack you silly when you are going to need to be mentally tough through the cravings and withdrawal.

This is just how it goes. If you can’t get yourself hyped up and see just how much you want to quit, then it isn’t worth attempting at all. A half-assed attempt at quitting smoking mine as well be smoking a pack because it sure as hell won’t get you anywhere. The best smoking aid, stop smoking program, whatever can’t get you to stop smoking if you aren’t truly committed yourself. So, if you want a good reason to quit then keep on reminding yourself that you are a slave to the cigarette because you really are if you are a smoker. Keep this thought in your mind, commit to quitting smoking, believe in yourself, and never look back. This is the way to quit smoking. Yes, it will be hard, very hard, but if you really want it then you can get it.

I think that many would agree that the reason why many smokers start smoking is because of friends and social situations. If you think about it, the reason any of us smoke cigarettes is because of something “social”. At some point in our lives we need to experience smoking socially if we are going to accept. We might see our parents smoke, we might see our friends smoke, we might see people smoking on TV…the types of social smoking encounters goes on and on. So, what is the point to all of this talk? The point I am trying to drive home here is the issue of smoking situations. Smoking when around friends or in social situations is an obvious trigger for a smoker. If you are with friends that smoke then you are are going to smoke yourself. It’s just going to happen. Social activities are one of the many triggers of smoking. There are many other situations where we find ourselves wanting a smoke and this is what I’d like to discuss in this article.

If you’re a smoker and you would like to stop smoking then you absolutely need to identify “your” smoking situations. What kinds of situations do you find yourself smoking in all of the time? When do you find it natural to smoke a cigarette? These are the types of questions you need to ask yourself. You need to dig into that head of yours and really analyze all of the types of situations you regularly find yourself smoking in. Obviously, this alone will not allow you to stop smoking. Simply identifying situations that you regularly smoke in isn’t the actual active part of this technique. I’ll get to that in a bit. Now, if you really want to get serious about things and are truly committed to quitting then I highly suggest that you literally write down different situations you find yourself smoking in regularly. Yes, this means carrying a pen and paper with you throughout your day and writing down all of the situations you are smoking in. If you find yourself smoking a cigarette at breakfast along with some coffee then write it down. If you have a smoke to kill some time before your bus arrives then write it down. If you are smoking…then write down the situation! The whole point of identifying your own smoking situations is to remember them and to become aware of them. If you are just tell yourself that you are smoking while having some coffee then it isn’t going to stick. Writing things down allows you to have a physical copy of your smoking habits which in turn will make your smoking situations stick in your brain. This is what you want.

When you have begun to see your smoking habits you can start acting on them. Becoming fully aware of your smoking situations is the first step towards acting on them. This is what allows you to take your smoking situations on and correct them. I realize that it isn’t this easy but it is a formula that works if you can work with it. Once you have begun to realize that you are always smoking in the morning with a cup of coffee, always smoking when you’re bored, always smoking when you’re with friends, always smoking after a stressful event, and so on, you will be able to compensate for these events. The issue of eliminating your smoking habits is still there but it is there in a much more manageable way. When you begin to see that you are always smoking in certain types of situations then you can prepare yourself for them. For example, if you are someone who tends to smoke a lot when you are anxious or stressed out then you know you are using cigarettes as a vice. If this is the case then you can prepare for this type of smoking situation by using another vice. Instead of smoking a cigarette you could open up to a friend, workout, take a nap, and so on. The goal in this type of smoking situation is to find another vice, preferably a healthy one, for your stress and anxiety. It is all about swapping out the smoking for something else. This applies to all smoking situations. You need to identify what is causing you to smoke in certain situations and either totally eliminate the factor or deal with the cause in a non-smoking manner.
